History of Blackman Blaze Youth Football & Cheerleading

The Blackman Youth Football League was founded in November 2011 by Dwayne Beasley who has trained numerous athletes at local Middle and High Schools in Rutherford County for six years. In the fall of 2011 he was given the vision to start a new youth football league in the Blackman Community of Murfreesboro. Dwayne met with TNYFL (Tennessee Youth Football League) and presented the Blackman Youth Football League as a new community and the league's first year was July 2012. Dwayne understood the challenge ahead of him could not be accomplished alone.

Dwayne contacted leaders in the community who were dedicated to building a great football league and the 2012 founding board for the BYFA was Dwayne Beasley, Craig Harris, Phillip Patton, Ben Corn, James Yates and Phillip Shadowens.

Behind the scenes workers were Jacinda Beasley, Lisa Chambless, Tisha Hayes, and Mike Bannister. This team was very instrumental in the development of the Blackman Youth Football Association.

In 2012 Blackman Middle School and Rutherford County Board of Education allowed the BYFA to practice on their fields and the home games to be played at Blackman High School.
